What is an INSS application?
The INSS (National Social Security Institute) application is a request made to apply for a certain type of benefit. It can be a temporary benefit, such as sick pay, as well as a permanent benefit, such as retirement or INSS pension. In short, it is the request for an acquired right or the granting of a benefit.
How to Apply for an INSS Application. See the steps:
After logging in, look for the Services option (it's on the top menu)
Select Benefits
Look for the type of benefit you are requesting
Click Schedule Expertise
Follow the status of your application on the Meu INSS website
How to consult an INSS application:
This option allows you to follow up on the request that was made for the benefit or application. If in doubt, you can call the specific number for follow-up: 135. This is the INSS number.
Other options are available on the site, which is easy to navigate, such as attaching documents requested by the INSS. Just go to schedule\requests and look in the magnifying glass (drawing on the website). Clicking on it will detail your application. Afterwards, go to fulfill requirements and click on attach documents to include documents that must be scanned or photographed. In part, the application asks for some fundamental information, they are:
Name
Last name
Position of the Person
Institution to which the application is addressed
Birthplace
Birth date
Telephone
Other data may be requested.
Scanned or photographed documents must be attached as requested
The application once approved, after a while, can be reopened. What this means? That the person has to prove that they are not yet able to work and that they need to renew the benefit or request a new benefit.
In the case of Sick Pay:
"Article 60: The sick pay will be due to the insured employee from the sixteenth day of the absence from the activity, and, in the case of other insured, from the date of onset of incapacity and, as long as he remains incapable."
Except in some cases of illness or work accident, sickness benefit can only be granted to those who have at least 12 months of work. And the benefit will be granted through medical expertise with a certificate longer than 15 days.
