Cetelem is a financial institution that is part of the French group BNP Paribas .
Originally created in France in 1953 , in 2008 , Cetelem and UCB gave rise to BNP Paribas Personal Finance. Bringing together the activities of credit to consumption, mortgage and consolidated credit, the two companies built a global credit player.
In Portugal , Cetelem has been present since 1993 . In 2010 , the merger with Credifin gave rise to Banco BNP Paribas Personal Finance, SA, which operates under the brand name Cetelem. With more than 650 employees across the country, Cetelem offers a complete range of credit to individuals via point of sale (stores, car dealerships) and directly to its customers: Internet and telephone .
Cetelem is a partner of several brands in commerce, services, banking and insurance companies, entities to which it brings its know-how, offering the type of credit and service best suited to the activity and commercial strategy of its partners. It is also an actor in the field of Responsible Credit.

Personal credit

The Cetelem Brasil group has the Aura card brand, which is issued by Submarino , Kalunga and Fast Shop . In 2011 there were 2.5 million cards with the flag in Brazil . [3] [4] Cetelem also sells this product in Portugal , being able to use this type of credit for various purposes such as remodeling, furniture, parties or ceremonies, information technology, among others. [5] Cetelem has also established, in Portugal, partnerships with other banks such as Banco CTT , whose personal credit is made through this institution.

The BNP Paribas Personal Finance Group has followed the development of consumption and distribution chains around the world for over 50 years. In 1989, he launched an annual publication in France whose studies on consumption , distribution and credit are sources of information and reflection available to all market players. The first Portuguese edition was released in 2000. The Cetelem Observer is present in several countries such as Germany , Brazil , Slovakia , Spain , France , Hungary , Italy , Portugal and the Czech Republic . [ citation needed ]
Oxygen Program
On April 22, 2008, Cetelem marked World Earth Day with the launch of the Oxygen Programme, as part of its Social Responsibility Policy . The Oxygen Program was created in order to involve other institutions, through the creation of partnerships in the area of preservation of endangered species and the environment.
