AGIBANK BANK
AGIBANK BANK
Agibank is a Brazilian bank founded in 1999 by Marciano Testa and headquartered in Porto Alegre. With more than one million customers, it was the first financial institution in the world to transform the cell phone number into the customer's checking account number.
Agiplan became a bank representative in Caxias do Sul, RS in 1999, but its headquarters were transferred to Porto Alegre in 2001. In 2010, Bradesco signed an exclusive contract with Agiplan to issue payroll-deductible loan products. In 2011, it obtained the credit and investment license from the Central Bank's financial institution, obtained the right to operate as a financial institution and built its own portfolio of credit assets. In 2013, it filed a power of attorney with the central bank, requiring it to conduct business like a bank and provide checking accounts. In the same year, it entered into a partnership with MasterCard Banner and began making its own credit cards available to customers. In 2016, it acquired Banco Generator, headquartered in Recife, and was renamed Banco Agiplan. At the end of the same year, it announced the launch of digital current accounts and a new payment method called Agipay via QR code.
In 2018, Banco Agiplan became a fully digital bank, changed its name to Agibank and issued several cards under the institution's new brand. In April of the same year, Agibank submitted the preliminary prospectus of the prospectus (IPO) to the Brazilian Securities Commission. The goal is to become the second digital bank to trade on B3 (stock exchange).
