Bradesco Promotora Bank (BMC)
Banco BMC was a bank in Brazil, headquartered in São Paulo, belonging to the Banco Bradesco financial group. It is one of the two largest private banks in INSS payroll loans, with a total network of about 10,000 agents, through more than 900 banking correspondents
History
Founded in 1939 by the Pinheiro family in the city of Fortaleza, Ceará, as a retail bank in 1976, the third generation of the family became the institution of national expression.
In the 1980s, BMC transferred its headquarters to São Paulo, where it already concentrated the largest volume of its business. With the expansion, the bank started to focus its service on the legal entity, positioning itself as a wholesale bank.
In 1996, Banco BMC underwent a change in its shareholding structure, in which Jaime Pinheiro, who was already the majority shareholder, acquired the stake belonging to his brothers Noberto Pinheiro and Nelson Pinheiro. During this period, the bank was restructured and started operating in the payroll loan and consumer finance market.
In January 2007, Banco Bradesco acquired BMC.
In June 2008, Banco Bradesco changed the name of BMC to Banco Finasa BMC SA Today is known as Bradesco Promotora.
